The flight from Delhi to Kathmandu involved some impressive views of the mountains and then we had a 1 1/2 hour drive up to the mountain resort of Nagarkot on a very poorly constructed/maintained road.
The following morning we woke for the sunrise over the mountains but as we had a 5th floor room (I'd emailed ahead and requested) we didn't even need to leave our balcony. It wasn't as clear a view as we had in Darjeeling but nonetheless it was a lovely sight.
After breakfast Krishna our lovely guide (also a teacher of Tourism) took us for a 3 hour walk to a viewing point and we met some lovely farming people along the way.
Wild Dahlias which grow about 12ft high
The mustard growing in the fields makes a very pretty landscape.
When we got to the viewpoint it was more like a watchtower and we had to climb a very scary ladder. A sweet Australian took our photo and then we had to pluck up courage to descend.
We then went back to the hotel and had a well earned rest!
