Our flight from Bagdogra was at 16:20 but Sunesh was concerned about the traffic on the road down; one accident or breakdown could hold us up so we had to leave at 09:30 - fair enough.
Except the drive took less than 3 hours including 2 stops and we were at the airport at about 12:20 so had to hang around before we could even check in.
I really don't understand why, given time, we couldn't have stopped off at one of the many Tea Gardens on the way - just for an hour and a few photos. Far better than being stuck at the airport for so long.
We arrived in Delhi about 19:00 but by the time we had got our luggage and were driven to the Taj Palace it was 21:00. We met up with the others in the restaurant for a quick farewell dinner and then off to bed.
We had to leave at 08:45 so less than 12 hours to enjoy the sumptuous facilities of this 5* hotel (I even tried to use all the towels in the bathroom but without success). At least we had time for breakfast - poor Keith and Elma were off to Shimla by train and left at 06:30 before breakfast even started.
The following morning we got to Delhi Airport at 09:15 for a 12:50 flight and cleared formalities in 10 mins - another long wait.
